TV and Movie Guides

There are many television guides on the web including the online TV Guide and Zap2it listings. You can read online movie reviews at the Internet Movie Database and at TV Guide's movie reviews.

Radio

My favorite radio show is NPR's Prairie Home Companion. National Public Radio's web site includes links to NPR's many fine programs.

Authors and Books

I enjoy reading and my favorite genres include historical fiction and some fantasy. I enjoy Stephen Lawhead's many novels on Celtic and Arthurian mythology from a Christian perspective. His official web site is very informative and do also check out the unofficial site Lawhead FAQ.

Another favorite author is J.R.R. Tolkien. The Lord of the Rings home page is an unofficial guide to his many books. C.S. Lewis's Narnia series are also a fantasy favorite. I have also greatly enjoyed J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series. You can visit the Official Harry Potter Website site.

I also enjoy Bernard Cornwell's novels, especially the Richard Sharpe series about a British officer in the Napoleonic wars.

Music

I enjoy a variety of music. One of my favorite groups is U2 who have managed to infuse their music with thoughtful lyrics often based on Scripture. I would encourage U2 fans to read this interview and this blog entry. Other groups I enjoy are the Canadian band Rush and the Irish group Mike Scott and the Waterboys.
